I've noticed several times now that defensive players will not pursue across the field to make tackles they will only stay in certain lanes which doesn't happen in american football.

I have set a unique def. I play some players out of position as in Safety as LB. At the end of the last game, I had a LB get injured who is not in my starting def.

players will swap out when they get tired....
