Teams with only 1 player

On a few occasions now I have come across teams with only 1 player on their team sheet. It's aso if they sold off their whole team and only have 1 contracted player. However if you play them, 15 players run out onto the field to face you.

Three questions come to mind:
1) Why would anyone do that?
2) Where do the other 14 players come from?
3) What quality will those 14 "casuals" be?

1. They retired and sold all their players
2. The game engine requires 15 on the pitch so the game gives them the players they need and all are 6* or 7*
3. The worst quality, they basically pluck 14 drunk middle aged fans out of the stands

But they're still good enough to beat the Leicester Tigers
