Disallowing new players to be part of the guild challenge

With the new rule of a player not being allowed to play any matches in the guild challenge within the first 48 hours of joining it puts the guild at a disadvantage as they have less games to play.

Would it not make more sense to disallow the player from being part of the guild challenge at all?
