match result determined before the match starts??

On a couple of occassions I have noticed that the end result of a game is determined before the match is over. When I logged on today I noticed that my number of fans had gone down ...but ... the match was only at the 20 minute point. I've seen this before, so my question is = Is the end result of a match determined before the match ends ...or even before it starts ...or when it starts?

And if not ...how can this happen?

Because already answered many times.
Matches are now simulated in one go , so all the events occurring in the short game are instantly visible ( injury, loss of energy, reward, cartons, etc.

At what time are the matches simulated? 10 minutes before the game? At the start of the match?
When do you need to get your tactics and matchs bonus set up?

Why is there the option to watch the game live and substitute players ...or change tactics?
