so, has it all changed? it used to be based on fan counts. but now it's (only) based on number of points earned over the last 60 days and these points are earned by winning (3) or drawing (1) a gc. Q: is this correct?

Yes, so good low fan guilds will have some tough matchups for a few weeks till their points level out.

There are now two ranking systems. The fan based ranking is still there and the new one, based on the points system as you have described it, has been added to the Guild challenge page (this has not been updated yet on Apple devices).

Glad you got a good match. In the two guild challenges so far under the new system we have had a total of 3 teams that are below our highest level guys level(who is 10 levels higher than the rest of the guild). So if the goal was to punish guilds who aren't full of top level players but perform well at their own level and hope a few of them respond by spending a bunch of cash to level up at the end of the season...mission accomplished.

Goid, you need to give it time to level out, those of us that were successful under the previous matchups will be penalised in the short term as we are against other guilds which were also successful but may have much stronger teams, however in a few weeks the rankings will be more reflective of your true ranking and we should all start to get much better competitive match ups

Perfect statement of our reality. And if you level out at say 60 points (totally throwing a random number out) when you all get to 65 it will feel amazing and then when you hit 70 a month or two later it will feel great. It will be a continuous 'chasing the dragon' looking to be your best self.
