Playing out of position

I've noticed that in the auction house 12-13 are pretty much the most expensive players to buy. If you want a 30+* under 23yrs you're looking at over 1000 recruiter points. But I can get a 15 with similar skill points for around 400-600. If I put a 15 in the 12-13 position would it be a detriment to the player?
Any thoughts/experience?

Previously saw it advised here there is no penalty for playing out of position but that you need to alter the individual player instructions to match the position they are in
