Specifically strikers/attacking players, quite often literally stop still when through on goal. Is this a known bug or anyone know anything strategically that might be causing it?

It is one of many cool features in this game. Another one is the back pass from the striker to the goalkeeper over 100 meters, resulting in an own goal ...even though the striker has 100% dribble, no passing and the goalkeeper has reception range to the max. But I am glad they sorted the fact that guys who commit a foul dont get the free kick anymore ...NOT.
