Is it possible to have a Kick off team and a Kick return team as separate units? It would be nice to be able to group offensive skilled players on kick return example would be skilled blockers and no kicker spot. Why is a kicker in the line up for kick return? Kickoff team players would specialize in tackling and that unit would of course include a kicker.

The kicker spot is almost the only position where this game differs from real life. (To some extent kick returners as well, depending on their primary role with the team.)

Yes there are some specialists on kickoff returns and kick offs, but most of the time in the NFL, if you can't play both sides, you don't play at all.

Also a simple solution. The kicker only needs an extra stat place. Train him to also be a bad ass retuner and tacker.

Are you suggesting kickers should actually be football players? That's not how it works! lol

(And I've kinda already done that, but would still like to specialize)

They lumped it together with kicking. I'd say a punter is optimized for power rather than acc.

I do remember reading early on maybe like 6-7 months ago that they planned to fix spec teams at some point.. .. was awhile ago thought.. maybe now that GC are done they will re vist that..
