Is there any point in starting now?

This game just crossed my radar, I've played plenty like it and generally don't play if I didn't find it somewhat close to launch. If I spend a few dollars to catch up a bit, am I still SOL and way too late to be competitive or will I be useful to a Guild?

Tournaments and Championships go by your level ... so you will be able to compete there.
Map games and Guild Battles ... you will get killed early on ... but about 6 months down the road .. if u play good .. u can become a force even in these ... u can gain 4 levels per month .. currently the highest level is 31.
