Report Match Fixing Update

DHSFP :

I haven't called anyone names...yet. I called our friend above "naive" is all and that is far from name calling.

As for 1 game per. team per. GC, I don't think that would go down well across the board. Nothing wrong with the way it is just now and also NOTHING wrong with milking. MOST Guilds use this depending upon who they are playing. It's not just limited to a few and the tiny percentage that do not use it I feel sorry for as their Guilds will progress much more slowly with their teams being unable to afford as many building upgrades as the ones who do use it.

I totally agree with you. But if people are going to get silly (which they will) and try to report a guild for playing a 1 win / 1 loss tactic in a GC, then maybe this could be a way forward, but equally I am not sure.

Onwards and upwards in terms of fair play, we all have the opportunity to make this game great again, but that starts with playing fair in league games.

It might not be in the league games but you everyone that plays a losing cow game is doing exactly the same as cag are doing in the league, you are losing (match fixing) on purpose to help guild members, that's the issue, you cannot choose what's match fixing and what isn't to suit your argument its the same thing just done on a different part of the game

You're missing the point. Throwing a game in guild challenges doesn't cost anyone anything, it helps everyone on both sides of the challenge and has no negative effect on any team. We are not challenging the idea of being able to lose any match at all. That would be ridiculous. You can throw your map games and tournament games too for all we care. Throw your friendlies too.

What we are challenging is throwing matches in championships. In championships, by throwing games and giving wins to your own guild's teams, you are negatively affecting the other teams in the league, and it often costs teams a fair promotion. I know you understand this.

Not so Damaged :

Well the new patch won't let people get away with fixing anymore which everyone is happy with. But there is a dark side to this that I doubt anyone had thought about Nick. For example let's say we played each other last game of the season and you needed the win to stay up and I was safe, I could put my lose strat on to screw you over and we both get losses. The game is now going down a dark road my friend. This guy who is posting all these results thinking he's doing a good deed for the game, Think again. This White Wizzard guy has never made it in the game and us trying to make a name for himself on here now. He will screw this game up for everyone and I mean everyone.
Personally I'd love the game to go back to the MB days when if you want to win you'd have to come online to make subs.

This exemplifies perfectly what is wrong with the game. The fact that this is your first thought in reaction to the developers introducing measures to attempt to stamp out industrial-scale match-fixing says it all. It's a clear sign that it is rotten to the core. No-one is whiter than white, but I think I read on this forum that there were over 100 matches fixed this season. The developers introduce a new measure and people are already thinking about/planning to screw people over with the new system.

From what I can see on this forum thread, Nick seems to be talking sense and everyone else is taking it as an opportunity to air their grievances and dislikes of each other.

Nick once you lose a game on purpose in GC its match fixing, dress it up however you want with the "Everyone gets money" it's still blatant match fixing where you lose on purpose

This is where a puritanical crusade slays any form of common sense. Clearly the first problem to clean up is the match-fixing in the league. If people then think losing a game in GCs is not right then that is a VERY SIMPLE problem to fix, you doubel the money you get for GC games and only get one match each. Simples. It's a stationary fix that would take the developers 3 minutes to code in all likelihood.

The problem with fixing in the league is that it has massive, far-reaching consequences. Firstly, people invest a lot of money in this game and the match fixers are cheating other players out of that money by screwing them out of promotion. Secondly, by fixing matches you are ensuring all your guys are higher level making your guild very difficult to beat in GCs and you are therefore skewing the guild rankings board. After all, isn't that what most of the elite are interested in? The rankings board? Thirdly, it also skews the individual rankings board as the top 20 becomes dominated by teams involved in fixing as it is very hard to be in the top 20 if you are not top level. In short, match-fixing in the league affects every single aspect of the game. Lastly, the developers have come out on several occasions and said that they are against match-fixing. Anyone involved in it or condoning it are therefore going against the wishes of the developers and deserve a ban for breaking the rules.

Sadly due to the above comments I am back

Can I ask one question please? Is putting your losing strategy on and losing on purpose match fixing?

I'm just going to reiterate what I said before, a puritanical stance to try and stop or in any way discredit the measures recently implemented by Sweet Nitro is quite simply counterproductive. If you want to have a philosophical debate that will lead nowhere, have at it. But without my input for what it is worth. Everyone, including sweet nitro, can clearly see that it is the championship matches where the most damage is done to the game as a whole which is actually under existential threat.

There really are some naive people in this game these days. Putting "lose" on for friendlies so a next game opponent in a competitive game can't figure out what strategy you are using is bad? Away and have a word with yourself if you think that
12/04/20 22:27
Have I mentioned friendlies? Or figuring out strats? League games and GCs are competitive affairs (finance) the rules should be absolutely the same regarding match fixing
12/04/20 22:33
GCs....are for finance as you said i.e. why we do milking. Nothing wrong with it as both teams on the losing and winning sides benefit.

The league I agree, fixing is totally out of order and has to be stopped somehow. It is not just about finance in the league but as has been mentioned before, legit players being robbed of rightful promotions due to a bunch of underhand cowards.

As you may have gathered that guy is taking the piss.
